The latest product I've tried is the Draper AP Saddle Blanket and Stable Rug!! What awesome products. I absolutely love the saddle blanket. It is fleece lined and wicks away the sweat as you are riding. Quai stays much cooler whilst she's working and it's the best addition to my thinline pad. It's a gorgeous grey pad with maroon binding as well!! The stable blanket matches (gotta love that) and is also fleece lined for wicking, so after I've ridden and hosed her off I put it on to wick away the moisture and cool her down as well as to provide some therapy to her muscles. LOVE IT!!
Well on Wednesday and went down to ride Quai and she had a fat leg. A little bit warm but no hot, and solid and firm. I hosed it for 15mins then used the Bioscan laser system on it, gave it three minutes of ultrasound, put the LED laser Boot on it for 20mins, then left the quickwraps on her overnight...... overkill I think not!
Anyway, the following day it had gone down significantly, so she had 20mins of the LED Boot and then the quickwraps on overnight and I did this for the next Three days. By the time the weekend came along, not a tad of heat or swelling to be found!! Love the LED Boot and Quickwraps :)
My absolute favourite massage book of all time is "Equine Massage a Practical Guide" by Jean-Pierre Hourdebaigt. This book is full of information, but is easy to follow and has excellent diagrams. It's a handy reference book for both practitioners and horse owners alike. It's spiral bound so easy to take out to your horse. Not only does it just talk about massage but it covers anatomy, physiology, the skeleton and more. Highly recommended.
