ABOUT DRAPER EQUINE THERAPY® FEATURING CELLIANT™

Draper Equine Therapy® is a line of therapeutic horse and rider products featuring the innovative textile Celliant™, a “smart fiber”.

Celliant™, which was first made available to the public in January 2003, is embedded with millions of microscopic gemstones, which act as reflective mirrors for energy emitted from the body. This energy is redirected back to the muscles and the circulatory system to relax the capillaries and improve blood flow and increase oxygenation. The result is accelerated muscle recovery and help for stiffness and soreness. An added benefit is increased circulation that helps balance the body.

Originally used to help people suffering from diabetic neuropathy and atherosclerosis (i.e., loss of sensation and a hardening of the arteries that results in diminished blood flow and other problems), Celliant™ was eventually brought to the sports market, where it helped such world-class athletes as Olympic triathlete Michelli Jones. Thanks to the innovations developed at Draper Equine Therapy, Celliant® is now being used to help non-human athletes.

The idea for adapting the benefits of Celliant™ to horses was devised by Kristin Draper of the Draper Knitting Company, a family-owned textile company in Canton, MA that has been leading the textile industry for over 100 years.

"We started working with Celliant™ early on,” Draper explains, “and when we saw what it could do for humans, we decided to take it to the equine market.”
